Ingredients
Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need for this dressing. Scroll to the recipe card for exact quantities.

- Extra-virgin olive oil: This dressing has a base of extra-virgin olive oil, which will get blended with all of the other ingredients to form a creamy green dressing.
- Greek yogurt: Makes it nice and creamy and adds a slight tangy flavour along with lime juice.
- Lime juice: A half cup of lime juice ensures that the dressing is ultra tangy and flavourful.
- Cilantro: The star ingredient in this dressing.
- Garlic: All good dressing recipes share something in common–the presence of garlic!
- Honey: A spoonful of honey balances out the flavours. It doesn’t make the dressing sweet, but rather balances the sharpness of the garlic and the tanginess of the lime.
- Cumin: For another pop of flavour, and it pairs so well with cilantro and lime.
- Salt and pepper: Essential seasonings. You can add both to taste, but I found that one teaspoon of salt was just right.
Instructions
This cilantro lime dressing is so simple to prepare. Simply add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

How to Serve This Dressing
This dressing is perfect for drizzling over any kind of tender green, such as arugula or baby spinach. It is also great as a kale salad dressing. Keep in mind that kale is a tougher green, so you will want to massage the dressing in to the kale with your hands to make it more tender.
A green salad with this dressing pairs well with Tex Mex and Mexican meals, including these Chipotle Pinto Bean and Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas and these Mole Cauliflower Tacos with Mango Salsa + Avocado Yogurt Sauce.
It’s also delicious tossed with pasta, beans, and veggies in a cilantro lime pasta salad.

Substitutions and Variations
- Other herbs: If you would like to experiment with different herbs, feel free to do so. I think a combination of parsley and basil would be delicious.
- Lemon: You can use lemon juice instead of lime juice. Start with a little less lemon juice (¼ cup instead of ½ cup) and add more to your taste.
- Dairy-free: For a dairy-free dressing, omit the Greek yogurt or use your favourite dairy-free Greek yogurt. Or use two tablespoons of tahini.
- Make it spicy: If you love spice, add a finely diced jalapeno pepper or ½ teaspoon of hot red pepper flakes.
- Add some seed power: Add up to ¼ cup of hemp hearts or roasted pumpkin seeds to add some protein, healthy fat, and minerals to the dressing.
- Avocado: You can also add an avocado to the dressing instead of the Greek yogurt. It will probably come out thicker and creamier, so add water to thin out, if desired. If you love avocado sauces and dressings, you’ll love the avocado goddess sauce in this bowl recipe.
Top Tip
Season with salt and spices to taste! I found that one teaspoon of kosher salt was just right. If you prefer a less salty dressing, start with ½ teaspoon. And if you like a spicier dressing, add a finely chopped jalapeno or ½ teaspoon of hot red pepper flakes.

Equipment
All that you need for this dressing is a blender. I love my Vitamix, but any blender will do just fine. For storing, you will need glass jars or containers. I have a selection of Mason jars and glass storage containers.
Storage
This dressing keeps well in an airtight jar or container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
