This delicious, nutrient-rich chocolate hemp smoothie is rich and creamy, with plenty of healthy omegas from hemp and flax. You’ll love it for breakfast with a muffin, toast, or homemade granola bar, or as an afternoon snack!

For the most part, if I’m going to drink a smoothie, it had better not have greens blended into it. I do make the odd exception, and I have a very tasty mint, kale, and mango green smoothie recipe coming to the blog soon. But more often than not, I prefer fruity/creamy/chocolatey numbers. How about you? Either way, I think you will fall head over heels for my favourite chocolate hemp smoothie.

Lately, I’ve really been enjoying a smoothie like this one with a couple of healthy pancakes, a homemade oatmeal bar, or a muffin, for breakfast. There’s something so nice about sipping on something cold and creamy first thing in the morning! But this smoothie also makes a nice afternoon pick-me-up.

ingredients you’ll need

  • Non-dairy milk, frozen banana, Medjool dates, hemp, ground flax, cocoa powder, and nut butter (optional). You can also add a little bit of cinnamon or cardamom if you like, but I usually keep the flavour profile simple.
