These pumpkin seed hemp energy balls are studded with dark chocolate and dates. High in iron, magnesium, and protein, they are the perfect pick-me-up!
It’s hard to know what to share in times like these, but one thing I do know is that everyone needs to eat. Hopefully I can be of service by making your day a little more delicious and nourishing.
These pumpkin seed hemp energy balls will give you just the boost you’re looking for, whether you’re working from home or performing one of the many essential services for society. I am feeling ever so grateful for healthcare workers, cashiers, shelf stockers, delivery people, and others who must continue leaving their houses to help people. My hat goes off to you.
Regardless of whether you consider yourself a snacker or not, everybody needs an energy boost at some point during the day. Maybe you’ve had a long morning of work and want to exercise before lunch. Have an energy ball or two! Maybe your young children are throwing a hunger tantrum, and the next meal is a long way off. Give them an energy ball! Up until recently, when I was still working outside of the home, I would take these pumpkin seed hemp energy balls with me to work and pop one or two in the afternoon, providing the energy I needed to get through the afternoon without resorting to a chocolatey treat.
They are nutrient dense, containing just the right amounts of protein, fat, and carbs to give you the energy that you need. In addition, pumpkin seed butter is incredibly rich in iron: a 2 tablespoon serving boasts a whopping 30% of your recommended daily intake. And don’t forget about its impressive zinc content! The same amount of pumpkin seed butter contains 14% of your recommended daily zinc intake. Zinc is incredibly important for immune function, which I think is most pertinent at this time.
These energy balls are incredibly simple. All you need is pumpkin seed butter, soft Medjool dates, hemp hearts, dark chocolate, and sea salt. If you want to change things up, you can use any nut or seed butter: tahini, sunflower seed butter, almond butter, peanut butter, hazelnut butter, and cashew butter are all delicious options.
to make these pumpkin seed hemp energy balls, you’ll:
