- 2 pounds lean or extra-lean ground beef
- 2 medium yellow onions, chopped
- 4 medium garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1/2 cup salsa
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the beef, onion, and garlic. Cook, mashing and stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned.
- Add the spices and salt and stir to incorporate.
- Stir in the salsa. Turn down heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
